Baku to host SportAccord World Sport and Business Summit in 2026

Just a few days remain until the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference for Water Management – Baku Water Week.

Bringing the latest technologies and innovative solutions in the water sector to Azerbaijan, Baku Water Week will gather government bodies, international companies, experts, and professional visitors on 10–12 September at the Baku Expo Centre. As the largest water event in the region, it offers participants unique networking opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies, and direct dialogue with global experts.

Baku Water Week is organised with the support of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency.

This event serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas, where global experts convene to present challenges, initiatives, and solutions. Being held in Baku for the second time, and of great importance both for the region and for Azerbaijan, Baku Water Week stands out with a rich, engaging, and strategically significant business programme.

The first of Baku Water Week will feature presentations “Complete Water Treatment Solutions”, “Achievement of the Guaranteed Results through Comprehensive Engineering of Water Supply and Wastewater Facilities”, case session “Global Climate Change: Management of Drought Risks in Azerbaijan”, as well as the expert sessions “Current State of the Caspian Sea: Problems and Solutions” and Sustainable Wastewater Management - Towards the Goals of COP29.

2nd International Conference for Water Management - Water for Tomorrow: From Scarcity to Strategy

On the second day of “Baku Water Week 2025” – 11 September – the 2nd International Conference for Water Management, organised by Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, will be held. The conference, which will take place at the Baku Expo Centre, will once again present an extensive and diverse programme with the participation of representatives of relevant state institutions, international organisations, private sector leaders, as well as leading local and international experts in the field. More than 40 speakers from nearly 10 countries are expected to address the conference.

The programme will include a plenary session titled “Leadership in Water Governance: Regional and Global Perspectives”, as well as panel discussions on “Water Strategies: Infrastructure and Digitalisation”, “Innovative Approaches to Alternative Water Resources Management”, “Water Diplomacy: Cooperation Beyond Borders” and “Water Sustainability Through Science and Innovations”.

Within the framework of the 2nd International Conference for Water Management, memoranda of understanding will also be signed between state structures and private sector companies. In particular, a Public-Private Partnership Agreement between ACWA Power and the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, as well as a Memorandum of Cooperation on Joint Research and Exchange of Experience between ACWA Power and Water and Amelioration Scientific Research Institute are expected to be signed as part of the event.

In addition, the conference will feature an award ceremony for the winning team of the “Hackathon” competition, as well as the companies participating in the panel discussions.

The 6th Caspian Water Innovation Forum

On 12 September, the third day of “Baku Water Week”, the 6th Caspian Water Innovation Forum will be held, organised by AquaLink Azerbaijan, the Gold Sponsor of the event. This once again confirms that Baku Water Week has become a key platform in the region for meetings, cooperation, innovation, and international dialogue in the water sector.

The forum, to be held under the slogan “Adding Value to Water”, will address crucial issues in the field. Four main panel discussions are scheduled as part of the forum: “Advantages of Implementing Advanced Water Technologies”, “Environmental Protection Technologies and Practices”, “Recycling Technologies and Their Importance”, and “Application of Innovative Technologies in Water Management”. In addition to representatives of the State Water Resources Agency, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the Ministry of Economy, the forum will also welcome international companies from more than 10 countries, as well as leading academic and educational institutions of Azerbaijan.

Alongside this, B2B and B2G meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation between government agencies, the private sector, and innovative start-ups will also take place within the framework of Baku Water Week. These meetings will provide a real platform for local and international companies, as well as state institutions, to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
