Within the framework of the latest session of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Assembly held on May 30 in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, the Republic of Azerbaijan has, for the first time, been elected as a member of the UN-Habitat Executive Board.

The UN-Habitat Executive Board is the main decision-making body that operates between sessions of the Programme. The Board is composed of 36 countries.
