Azerbaijan and Romania expanding cooperation

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Minister of Energy of Romania Sebastian-Ioan Burduja on April 1, Caspian Energy Media reports with reference to presidential website.

 

At present there are over 70 SOCAR petrol stations operating in Romania.

The agreement on a strategic partnership in the field of green energy development and transmission between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary was signed in Bucharest on December 17, 2022.

 


During the visit to Baku in February 2023 President of Romania Klaus Iohannis emphasized Romania’s readiness for deepening strategic partnership between the countries and implementing regional projects of strategic importance. We are ready for cooperation in the field of energy, trade, investments, digitalization and agriculture.

 

Azerbaijan has started delivering additional volumes of gas to Romania since

January of this year. According to the agreement reached between Romgaz and SOCAR, additional volumes of gas will be delivered to Romania in the years 2023-2024.
