On 5 November 2014 at the Fairmont Baku Hotel the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) held the second forum dedicated to the Oil and Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex project (OGPC). The Forum was organized by Caspian Event Organisers (CEO), Iteca Caspian and INBC Consulting.
The Forum was attended by over 500 delegates from 150 companies from more than 30 countries worldwide. At the official opening ceremony of the 2nd SOCAR OGPC Forum, the President of SOCAR Mr Rovnag Abdullayev welcomed the delegates before a new presentation film about the OGPC project was screened.
During the first session, on the topic of EPC stages of large-scale oil and gas processing and petrochemical projects, SOCAR Vice-President for Strategic Development Tofig Gahramanov gave a presentation. Managing Director/Operations and Technology of STAR Refinery AS, Robert Storey observed that he was participating in the forum for the second time. The first forum was in 2012 and he has now seen what great changes have been made in the past 2 years. Kseniya Babushkina, who is a partner and head of the advisory department for Central Asia and Kazakhstan at EY said that their company was very pleased to be taking part in the forum among the companies that deal directly with insurance risks, as precisely those contractors that would be interested in working with them were present. During the forum a number of business meetings took place, as well as 50 presentations.
