On September 19-20, 2024, within the framework of the consultative meeting of railway administrations' leaders regarding the establishment of the "Eurasian Transport Route" International Association held in Baku, Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), met with Ufuk Yalçın, General Director and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish State Railways' TCDD Taşımacılık.
According to "Caspian Energy Media," this meeting, the second this year, focused on the main directions and development prospects of cooperation in the railway sector between the two brotherly countries. The discussion also included opportunities for increasing cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor following the modernization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.
It was noted that Azerbaijan and Turkey play a significant role in transporting goods from East to West and vice versa, and are taking joint steps to enhance cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor via the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.
