Baku to host 1st International Caspian Gas Industry Forum

On September 18, 2024, Baku will host the 1st International Caspian Gas Industry Forum within the framework of the Caspian Investment Week. The Forum will be co-organized by Caspian Energy Club and Enermus CJSC. This was said by Zaur Mustafayev, Founder of Enermus CJSC and Head of the Gas Industry workgroup operating under the energy committee of Caspian Energy Club.

The 1st International Caspian Gas Industry Forum – to be held within the framework of the events dedicated to the Green World Solidarity Year, 30th anniversary of the Contract of the Century and 25th anniversary of the Caspian Energy Brand - will cover knowledge and experience sharing on such important topics as gas industry innovations, sustainable development and ecology, as well as future trends and investment opportunities. The event participants will hold discussions on ways of optimizing gas production/processing, increasing energy security and reducing CO2 emissions.

“In view of the forth-coming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to be hosted in Azerbaijan in November 2024, the topics that will be discussed at the forum are of great importance to our country and the region as a whole. Information on projects which are planned and ongoing in this direction will be a priority area for the forum”, Zaur Mustafayev noted.

Zaur Mustafayev also said that the forum would also cover such topics as the environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, depletion of natural resources, measures to expand green economy, use of conventional and renewable sources of energy, application of high technologies in this area, etc.

According to Zaur Mustafayev, the main topics that the 1st International Caspian Gas Industry Forum will focus on are as follows: Application of international standards and safety systems in provision of gas supply to regions, and Employment of ‘green’ and innovative technologies in the gas industry.

Besides, speaking about the project on turning Karabakh into the ‘green energy’ zone, Zaur Mustafayev noted that issues concerning the use of energy sources in the region freed from occupation, as well as energy efficiency, support and funding of work carried out here in this direction, ecosystem rehabilitation and application of innovations will also be discussed at the forum within the framework of the Green World Solidarity year.

Apart from the gas industry, top-managers and representatives of a number of public and private companies operating in different segments of the economy are also expected to participate in the 1st International Caspian Gas Industry Forum.

“I hope that the forum will become a significant event promoting international cooperation and innovative solutions in the gas industry, and will strengthen ties between key players of the industry, and speed up the introduction of new technologies and practices. This conclusion is made from international companies’ executives invited to participate in the 1st International Caspian Gas Industry Forum”, Zaur Mustafayev noted, adding that detailed information will be brought to the attention of public soon.
