President of Azerbaijan to visit Kazakhstan

The second meeting of the Azerbaijan–Kazakhstan Supreme Interstate Council will be held in Astana.

According to AZERTAC, President Ilham Aliyev stated this in an interview with the Kazinform agency ahead of his visit to Kazakhstan on October 20–21.

Emphasizing the importance of holding the Supreme Interstate Council — the first meeting of which took place last year during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan — the head of state said:

“At the upcoming second meeting in Astana, we will discuss further prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation and steps to bring Azerbaijan–Kazakhstan relations to a new level.”

Ilham Aliyev noted the high level of political trust that has developed between the two countries, as well as the growing economic dimension of their cooperation.

According to the President, investment cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is strengthening: the volume of Azerbaijani investments in Kazakhstan’s economy has reached $225 million, while Kazakhstani investments in Azerbaijan amount to $136 million.

“These figures reflect the mutual interest of both sides in long-term partnership and sustainable development,” the head of state added.
