Green Energy Corridor: Feasibility Study Progress

A general meeting of representatives of the founding members of Green Corridor Union LLC—Azerenerji OJSC, Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC), and Uzbekistan National Power Grid JSC—was held at the Ministry of Energy.

As the Ministry told AZERTAC, during the meeting the participants agreed to appoint Tural Aliyev as the new General Director of Green Corridor Union LLC and to increase the company’s charter capital. In addition, they discussed engaging a consulting company to conduct the project’s feasibility study and addressed other organizational matters.

Recently, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov stated that the remaining stage of the project’s feasibility study—including market, transmission, and routing analysis, as well as financial modeling—is expected to be completed by early 2026. The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) has included the Green Energy Corridor project in the preliminary list of its upcoming Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP). Being placed on this list opens the possibility for the project to obtain PCI/PMI status (Project of Common/Mutual Interest).
