ASCO’s Handysize-type dry cargo vessel "Khojaly" has delivered 30,000 tons of sulfur from Long Beach port, California, USA, to the Mexican port of Santa Rosalia.

After unloading the cargo at the port, the vessel took in ballast water and set sail for Portland, USA, to load its next shipment.

It should be noted that this vessel was commissioned in May 2024 as part of ASCO's strategy to enhance cargo transportation capabilities beyond the Caspian Sea and expand its operational geography. “Caspian Energy Media” reports with reference to the “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping”.

Сухогруз типа «Handysize» «Ходжалы», принадлежащий ASCO, доставил 30 тысяч тонн серы из порта Лонг-Бич, штат Калифорния, США, в мексиканский порт Санта-Росалия.

После выгрузки груза в порту судно приняло балластную воду и направилось в порт Портленд (США) для загрузки следующего груза.

Italian oil services company Saipem said on February 23 that it will merge with Norwegian rival Subsea 7 in a deal valued at about $4.63 billion, “Caspian Energy Media” reports via Reuters.

Subsea7 shareholders will receive 6.688 Saipem shares for each share they hold, the companies said in a statement.

The combined company, to be renamed Saipem7, will have a "combined backlog" of 43 billion euros ($45 billion), revenue of about 20 billion euros and EBITDA over 2 billion euros, they said.

Сделка приведет к созданию компании с совокупным портфелем заказов в 43 млрд евро, годовой выручкой порядка 20 млрд евро, EBITDA выше 2 млрд евро и штатом сотрудников более 45 тыс. человек. Объединенная компания будет называться Saipem7.

Компании ожидают, что синергетический эффект от сделки в размере 300 млн евро будет достигнут на третий год после ее закрытия.

From February 17 to 21 of this year, a delegation from the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the largest international exhibition of food and beverages, ‘Gulfood 2025,’ held in Dubai, UAE.

At the  in Uzbekistan more than 40 leading Uzbek companies from the food industry and agro-industrial complex showcased their products. The stand featured a diverse array of export items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, legume products, natural juices, mineral water, and other ecologically clean goods. This extensive selection attracted the attention of importers, distributors, and retailers.

Following the discussions, an agreement was reached with NOON, the largest e-commerce platform in the Middle East, to feature Uzbek goods on the platform, utilize bonded warehouses, establish supplies based on STM (own trademark), and organize export supplies in both B2B and B2C formats.

С 17 по 21 февраля текущего года делегация Министерства инвестиций, промышленности и торговли Республики Узбекистан приняла участие в крупнейшей международной выставке продуктов питания и напитков «Gulfood 2025» в Дубае (ОАЭ).

На стенде «Made in Uzbekistan» свою продукцию представили более 40 ведущих узбекских компаний пищевой промышленности и АПК. Стенд, на котором был представлен широкий ассортимент экспортной продукции: свежие фрукты и овощи, сухофрукты, орехи, бобовые продукты, натуральные соки, минеральная вода и другие экологически чистые товары, привлёк внимание импортеров, дистрибьюторов и ритейлеров.

По итогам переговоров, с крупнейшей платформой электронной коммерции Ближнего Востока «NOON» достигнута договорённость о размещении узбекских товаров на платформе, использовании бондовых складов, налаживании поставок на основе СТМ (собственная торговая марка) и организации экспортных поставок в формате B2B и B2C.

В завершение встречи сторонами выражена твёрдая приверженность дальнейшему углублению и расширению сотрудничества по всем обсужденным направлениям двустороннего взаимодействия, а также согласован график совместных мероприятий на 2025 год.

In 2024, the trade turnover reached nearly $150 million, reflecting a 20% increase, primarily driven by services, heavy engineering products, and medical equipment.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to further deepening and expanding cooperation in all areas discussed. They also agreed on a schedule of joint activities for 2025.

On February 21, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Ricardo Martinez Vazquez, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Uzbekistan, who is based in Moscow.

The parties concentrated on current topics related to Uzbek-Spanish cooperation, as well as the organizational aspects of conducting joint events in 2025.

A wide range of issues related to bilateral trade, economic cooperation, and investment interactions were discussed. After analyzing the composition and volumes of mutual trade, both parties agreed on the necessity of utilizing all available opportunities. This includes the duty-free trade regime under the GSP+ system of preferences, the organization of business missions, and, more broadly, the active involvement of new producers of in-demand products from both countries in trade processes.
