On August 20, 2024, a meeting took place between Rovshan Najaf, President of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), and Levan Kobiashvili, President of the Georgian Football Federation (GFF).

Caspian Energy Media reports with reference to  AFFA that during the meeting, they discussed mutual cooperation between AFFA and GFF. Both parties expressed confidence that this collaboration will contribute to the development of football in both countries in the future.
