The IMF has raised its global economic growth forecast to 3% for 2025 and 3.1% for 2026.
The updated forecast, published in the July 2025 World Economic Outlook, represents a 0.2 percentage point increase compared to the corresponding April 2025 report, while the upgrade for 2026 is close to 0.1%, according to the document.
However, at best, the new data still point to a slowdown in the global economy compared to 2024, when growth reached 3.3%, and remain far from the pre-pandemic level of +3.7%.
The IMF has raised its economic growth forecast for the United States to +1.9% for this year and 2% for 2026, up from 1.8% and 1.7%, respectively.
In the eurozone, GDP growth is projected at 1% for 2025, while the growth forecast for 2026 (+1.2%) remains unchanged.
