Azerbaijan and Germany discussed the cooperation in green energy. The discussions were held during a meeting between Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, Michael Harms.
The meeting reviewed partnership within the framework of Germany's policy of diversification in the energy sector, ensuring competitive prices and strengthening the fight against climate change, as well as Azerbaijan's course towards the development of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency. It was noted that German companies have plans for cooperation in Azerbaijan on about 20 projects, some of which cover the energy sector.
As noted, in addition to electricity, the green energy corridor currently being implemented between Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Black Sea, and Eastern European countries also envisages the transportation of green hydrogen at the next stage. The volumes exported through this corridor can also be used to meet Germany's energy needs in the future.
During the conversation, views were also exchanged on other green energy interconnectors currently being implemented, green technologies, and the development of the hydrogen industry in the world. “Caspian Energy Media” reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy.
