Lamiya Valiyeva Sets New World Record

Citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Caspian Energy Media reports that Azerbaijani Para-athlete Lamiya Valiyeva won a gold medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.

The athlete, competing in the T13 category, achieved this by covering the 100-meter distance in 11.76 seconds.

Thus, the gold and silver medalist of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games set a new world record.

It should be noted that at the moment, Azerbaijan has 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals.
